Albert R Campbell
Albert was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on the 8th of April 1875. Like so many other recipients of this era, there is very little information that can be found surrounding his early, or even later, life. It is known that he enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1897 and deployed as a Private to China in support of the Boxer Rebellion. His actions there earned him the Medal of Honor: the citation reads:
In action at Tientsin, China, 21 June 1900. During the advance on Tientsin, Campbell distinguished himself by his conduct.
Albert exited the Marines one year after receiving his Medal of Honor on the 19th of July 1901 and there are no records of marriage or children. Albert Ralph Campbell died on the 4th of December 1925 at the age of 50 and he is buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California: Section M, Lot 712, Grave 2.
